the two days of the week when most folks don't have to work. the summer weekends are usually classic at least for me! 

May was a very busy month for me, i was in 5 different states celebrating with wonderful family members! i came back from one of my trips with work from my family :-)

i will one day recap the month of May as i experienced it in 2104........ i do have to say, DMV continues to be DMV, Nashville was great ........ and ATL never ever disappoints! 

i love to travel and i love to plan! 

loving the combination of both my loves...............

Well i take the day off work and do whatever pleases me for the whole day. if its on a Saturday, i take off the Friday

before and for Sunday i take off on Monday!

Cake for Valentines. i love cake, my hubby knows what kind i like and he makes an effort to get it for me. this particular valentines day, he arranged for me to get my cake once a month for 6 months. i could call the bakery and order it at anytime.......

it was our first valentines day after we got married. i wanted to surprise my husband. i had made all the plans and found out he had to work. i just postponed valentines for a week................

the following weekend, i gave him a valentines he would not forget! 

needless to say, our baby was born in November! 

My First Valentine -Day XI

Day 11

Valentines day was on a Saturday that year! My Hubby (then bf) was working during the day. The plan was that i would get the groceries and we will make a special dinner. My baby brother also had a dance that night. So i bought the groceries and i left it in the fridge. 

It was so special i got lobster. 

when my hubby got home, he stated cooking. he went into the fridge to get the lobster and felt the lobsters moving! they were alive.

he was in shock as i forgot to tell him i got us live lobster............

when i got back home, we continued to cook together and we made a lovely meal. 

We had a wonderful Dinner and i spend every Valentines Day with him. 

i look forward to many many more. 

every year on Valentines, we always talk about the Live Lobsters! 

our first valentines was a great.

My First Valentine - DAY X

Day 10

i was so happy to see his face in the crowd,we had been friends for many years. we lost contact for a while and then reconnected again. after that day we dated for a few months. then it was valentines day! he did not propose but he did the loveliest thing. he started about 3 days before....... i got a bouquet of flowers ; then the next day i got a fruit arrangement ; then i got a piece of jewelry and then the day after Valentines, we had drinks and Dinner and it was perfect. 

we got married a few years later.......................

My First Valentine- Day IX

Day 9

this was not my first valentine, it was my best..... my husband proposed to me on valentines day. i particularly asked that he not propose to me in public. i wanted something simple. No big deal. it was so funny. we had dinner plans the night before valentines day, we went out to dinner and had a blast. our date was later in the evening so it ran right up to midnight. just before midnight, the waiter came to the table. i was sure he was going to hurry us off so that he could clean the table and count out his cheques, but he was offering usmore coffee, more bread if we wanted and insisted that we share another dessert. 

i really was stuffed but i was not going to pass off a nice dessert. 

unknown to me, the entire family was congregated in the other portion of the dinning room they managed to stay really quiet .... 

i get the dessert plate; they open it up and NO Ring. as i am engaging in conversation with the waiter, i notice he is really trying to get away from our table. he barely walks away and i notice my hubby on one knee with a ring box................ the rest is history.......................

it was valentines day 2000, my senior year in college. i had been dating my husband (then boyfriend) for 3 years. we met my freshman year.on valentines morning, he came to my dorm room with flowers, my favorite candy, a bottle of bubbly and a ring. (it was not an engagement ring) i loved it. 

we are now married with 2 wonderful children.

i had a crush on a boy in my first grade class. he was so sweet to all the other kids in class but he was always mean to me. we had to be nice and make valentines cards for all the kids in class. i made him a simple regular card and just said happy valentines. when i saw his card, it was so cute. he said he really liked me and wished me a very nice valentines day. we ended up being very good friends all through grade school and we are still friends today.

My Boyfriend picked me up from work. when i opened the door to the passengers side of the car, i saw the biggest bouquet of flower i had ever seen. 

i was so excited. he got me flowers for valentines day. a special arrangement that he got from a florist (that was ordered in advance)

My Dad was my first Valentine. He would buy us candy and cookies on Valentines day. he always told us how special we are and how much he loved us.

Valentines day 2002 i had a fight with my boyfriend a few days before. i was so mad at him! i did not speak to him for a few days. 

on valentines day, i went about my business. when i got back home my boyfriend had got me a huge card and a huge teddy bear. 

his mom was so impressed, she was more excited about the gift than i was. she kept telling me: see, he got you a gift, hes never given any girl a valentines present. 

i was still mad at him but i quickly forgave him......... i still have the same emotional memory every time i tell the story.

i love my hubby!

a few years ago on valentines day, i came home from a very very long day of work. i went to the mail box and found a card. the envelope did not have a return address. i could tell from the envelope who the card was from.
i took my time opening the card, i was half way shocked and half way excited.
when i opened up the card it was very simple and straight forward. it read: Simple Honest True, for me, Love is you......... and it was signed with love.

i was so overwhelmed! i shared a picture of it with two of my best friends. they were so overwhelmed, they cried ..................

so far, that was my best valentine. the gift was so Simple yet had such a great impact!

My FIRST Valentine - Day II

DAY 2

 

It was Valentines Day 1996; Form 4...... apparently there was a classmate who had a crush on me. So a group of my friends and a group of his friends got us together so that he could give me his valentines gift to me. 

we ended up at the back of one of the classrooms, he tells me how much he liked me and presented me with a wrist watch/ candy and a card. 

i was so shy and afraid of my mother. i was so honest too. i told him i cherished his friendship, i could not take the gift because it was just too expensive and my mother would not let me keep it. i did take the card and keep it in school and i took the candy and my friends enjoyed it 

this was my first Valentine! 

it was perfect. i think back and get a smile on my face. it was also nice to have someone who likes you! i did not think i was the kind of girl that "good boys" liked!

My First Valentine

DAY 1

It was Valentines day in 2003, i had just started working downtown Philadelphia. My boyfriend lived in NE Philly. most days i will get home before he did. On this particular day, he called me and said he will pick me up at the train station. i was not complaining about that. it was February in Philadelphia and it was cold.

I got to the house and we did our normal routine, pick up the mail and then head upstairs to his apartment. I walk in the door and i saw a balloon, heart shaped, attached to a small gift bag that had a teddy bear in it. He also had like 5 cards around the package and a single red rose.

i looked in the kitchen and Dinner was started.

it was not the biggest or greatest gift he had given me, but i had no doubt that it came from a place of true LOVE.
I realized that day that the true gift was the connection we had with one another. I regularly got flowers for no reason, i regularly go cheesecake from cheesecake factory, i regularly got back rubs and breakfast in bed.

This situation was special because it was Valentines, and it was a very Powerful but Simple gesture.
